SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #23

It's nice that somebody threw Batwoman a bone and acknowledged her existence for once since her book was cancelled.

The Spoilers:

So remember that 8 page preview that featured all the Bat allies fighting across the world while Dick was heading to some ice kingdom looking place? That's how we get here.

Dick has called in the help of Midnighter and his doors in order to organize everything they can get, in order to try and stop mother's plans. Everyone including Stephanie and Harper's brother, Cullen.

So that's pretty much what they do, each agent of sorts has a goal in a certain city, and that's to take out the transmitter, all while Dick goes to confront Mother head on. Meanwhile, Jason has pushed a not so helpful Scarecrow into making a whole bunch of that fear toxin that neutralizes Mother's brainwashing.

And then we just end on where the preview all those months ago left off.

The Opinion:

Fun issue, had some good Midnighter banter (If Tom King is writing Batman, we better see Midnighter show up because that's a thing that should happen). It was one of those issues, similar to the last series, where they just bring in a whole bunch of characters that hadn't really had anything to do with the series up until this point, like Katana, Black Canary, and oh hey, Batwoman, she still exists!

So now we're all caught up with three issues to go, let's stick the landing, shall we?

  1. Steph, though I'm not a fan of hers, really came off well in dealing with Crane. I guess having a father that's a supervillain, she's heard the spiel and it just isn't very impressive.

    1. I am a huge fan of Steph, and seeing her smack Crane down was really great, especially since he was her first supervillain faced as Batgirl (#3).

  2. I know I'm late to this, but the only reason I went back and started reading this series is because they brought Batwoman into it. So cool. I hope she gets some good scenes of ass-kickery in the final two issues to make up for lost time (six months!).
