SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Annual #3

So, we've never seen Damian Wayne driving around with his father on the moon, and I can tell you straight up: if that sounds like something that's appealing to you, well then have I got an issue for you.

The Spoilers:

So, stick with me here... Bruce is on JL monitoring duty, so Damian and Titus hack the teleport and make their way up there. Damian notices some lights in one of the lunar modules on the surface of the moon, so he and Bruce inspect. Turns out, there are some weird parasite aliens posing as the old NASA pilots and are using all the old tech to build a big spaceship to launch from the moon and go to the earth for some reason, that's probably bad.

SO, Bruce and Damian attempt to stop it, but the spaceship launches anyways, Bruce kicks Damian off thinking he may not make it out while he aims the thing to a volcano on Earth, but Damian disobeys Bruce and follows in the Batplane, catches his father at the last possible second, they win, and look up to the sky.

The Opinion:

If you're on the fence wondering whether or not this is worth $5 or contains anything you may need to know for Damian's book in June, then I'd recommend passing. It's just one of those annuals that's a story which doesn't really have to do with anything and is sure to go as quickly as it came. I don't know, there's a certain level of ridiculousness with Bruce and Damian on the moon that you could appreciate, but the story itself just doesn't amount to much and was just random. I think there was some of the father/son stuff this series has been known for, but that's the problem, this series has been known for great moments with that idea in mind, but this issue fails to live up to any of the more notable ones. So yeah... kind of a bummer finale to this volume.

  1. That's it. Thank god I didn't buy it, practically didn't see the point of this series since 2015 if they were just trying to get rid of his powers and just kick him to his own book so that batman can have solodventures
