Didn't take long for the League of Shadows to just start wrecking shit.

So I'm back!? I had recorded this video and previous thought my el Gato fucked up and didn't register my clicking of the record button, so I pretty much through this dream was lost. A couple days ago I was going through my hard drive and saw what turned out to be the raw footage, right there in complete. So, sorry for the delay, but here's the second episode. I'll play the third sometime this weekend and look to get that up next week.

I like these weeks, two of my favorites make them easy to look forward to.
- Batman #10: Oh look, it's another issue. I wonder if it will shed any further light on the final page bombshell last week. Oh, it will? Imagine that!
- Nightwing #8:
That's that. November, huh?

Just a heads up, this preview is like... two pages under what is probably half the issue, so maybe don't read it all or just look at the pretty pictures? I don't know, I hate reading a majority of an issue through previews. That's why I pretty much don't read previews anymore.

Nearly Halloween, time for DC to NOT get spooky because we can't have fun things anymore! Sure, Rebirth is fantastic and all that, but c'mon... Halloween stuff!
- Detective Comics #943: New storyline and a new haircut for JPV. Off the list he goes!
- Batgirl #4: Kinda over this travel abroad story.

Considering there was just some controversy with Peter David and some comments made about Romani heritage, and this seems to be going deep into Dick's, the timing can't be coincidental! We're all a bunch of jabroni marks who worked ourselves into a shoot, brother!

New year, new changes to some of the books. Batgirl gets a new artist, but we knew that, Ben Oliver will illustrate the Batwoman Begins issues of Detective, and Batman will be getting some epilogue issues... well one at least, not sure if the second issue of the month will be a larger arc or not.

I really hope this turns out well, and occupies it's own little corner of Gotham, while utilizing its setting to the fullest. I don't want another Gotham By Midnight where it's technically in Gotham but... it could have been set anywhere.

Night of the Monster Men is over and we can move on from the pain of no Gundam Batman.
- Batman #9: Give me a "they know each other" Batman/Catwoman relationship Tom King! Doooo it!
- Nightwing #7: Hey, that Raptor guy is sketchy, huh?
Also, solicits are next week, I think? Where did the first half of this month go?
I guess we're doing this for real. Turns out this book is pretty good despite every preconceived notion I had of Scott Lobdell's previous Red Hood work (mostly the mid to later stuff) and the idea of him continuing on. Going to use this post as a real quick up to date on the entire series thing.
Not much news to go on here, but the next time Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo team up under the banner of DC, will be for a Summer 2017 event that's Batman-centric and described as very "rock 'n' roll"
I should probably stop while I'm ahead, winky face.
Also, there's this tweet I posted this one time and favorited for reasons to bring it up at a later date. Clearly I was reacting to something, I wonder what? Boy, do I seem excited.

I plan to do a sort of catchup post for the first couple issues of this series (which, as much as I railed against the announcement of this book, have been quite good) but not sure when I'll get to it this weekend. Pretty simple story so far, shouldn't take long, buuuuuuuut, weekends.

Big week next week, with some changes. Going to do the first three books on Wednesday, then save the other two for Thursday or perhaps later.
- All-Star Batman #3: Batman continues his fight with KGBeast... or at least attempts not to die.
- Detective Comics #942: The finale of Night of the Monster Men, which I'm sure will be picked up down the line... like in Batwoman!
- Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #3: Birds vs Snake people?
- Red Hood and the Outlaws #3: Turns out this book is pretty alright, fucking a.
- Gotham Academy: Second Semester #2: Amy is such a jeeeerrrk.
Figure I'll maybe do a quick catch up post on Red Hood? I don't know, don't necessarily want to take up too much more time.
DC announcing actual ongoing series at a major convention? Rebirth is the best!
After her prominent role in Detective Comics, Batwoman will be getting a new ongoing series in early 2017. The main series will be written by Marguerite Bennett with art by Steve Epting (holy shit). The story will be spinning out of Detective Comics as Batwoman finds out the venom Hugo Strange used in the current Night of the Monster Men storyline is being sold. Speaking of Detective Comics, writer James Tynion will help launch the series with a two-part arc in Detective called "Batwoman Begins," co-written by Bennett in January. February will see the Batwoman: Rebirth one-shot which will also be co-written by the two writers, followed by the main series launch in March, which Tynion will also co-write for the first arc.
Cool news. Steve Epting is a big pull, though with the schedule on Velvet, I'm kind of concerned with how many issues he may actually be able to do. I've had issues with Bennett's writing in the past, from what little I've read, but if I remember correctly is was along the lines of repetition in the dialogue nothing like me disliking a story or anything. Overall, cool news. Detective got me excited for the character again, so naturally, I'm pretty happy about her getting a new ongoing.

Again, not even sure if I'm going to cover this issue (let alone the series anymore) given that there is really no point in discussing a book with very little actual substance worth putting into detail. That, and I'll probably just complain about haircuts.
