Welcome to Stack Highlights, it's like Stack Rundown but with a fraction of the effort!
And the mother of year award goes to... literally anyone but Lady Shiva
Lots of style, just need a little more easily discernible substance for my tastes.
I'm not sure exactly why most of this issue happens, but it sure is cool.

Jesus christ, in just two months we'll be talking about 2017 comics. What. So here's something new... I'm going to try out that Mother Panic book from Gerard Way and DC Comics' Young Animals line. If you haven't read about that, it's basically old Vertigo, but not, using in-universe characters, and Mother Panic is a book that takes place in Gotham, so naturally... you know. Figure I'll give it a shot, write about it here. ON TO THE SOLICITS.

November solicitations are just around the corner, and with it comes another fifth week. Rebirth will have been around just long enough (especially with double shipping) where it would make sense to have annuals to fill out that week. Batman gets one, and boy is it star studded in terms of creative team.
BATMAN ANNUAL #1
Written by TOM KING, SCOTT SNYDER, PAUL DINI, STEVE ORLANDO and SCOTT WILSON
Art by DAVID FINCH, RILEY ROSSMO, NEAL ADAMS and others
Cover by DAVID FINCH
“SILENT NIGHT”! A hush of winter snowfall has fallen over Gotham City…but a quiet night in this place is never truly quiet. Batman and his allies—and his many foes—stalk the streets in this icy showcase of top talent.
On sale NOVEMBER 30 • 48 pg, FC, $4.99 US • RATED T
Full solicits hit on Monday at 5pm, as usual... unless they leak first.
Okay, solicits next week... unless they leak again and DC just pretends they never happened.
- Detective Comics #939: Batman and company tell on the Colony to the Government? I don't know, that cover isn't doing much to tell a story.
- Batgirl #2: Shanghai, I believe? Something about an MMA tournament.

I saw small thumbnails of Alfred in the cowl, and obviously without realizing that it was indeed Aflred, I was about to rail hard on this asking what the fuck happened to the art. In other news, big week for Alfred, huh?
Obligatory "the title of this book is too long and it should just be called Birds of Prey" comment, but hey, I get Helena Bertinelli Huntress back, so I've got that.

I had planned to see Suicide Squad today at a 10:40 showing, because I like seeing movies when no one in their right mind goes to see movies. Work up at 8:30 went "okay, I should get up." Next thing I know, it's 11:30 and I'm apparently not seeing that movie this weekend. Maybe next!?

So, this happened pretty quickly. Sean Murphy just announced his own Batman project on Twitter in a series of tweets and it turns out that he's signed a DC Comics exclusive, so there goes my dreams of more Tokyo Ghost in the near future, but also, he's working on Batman comics and that's it.
Here's what Sean Murphy had to say on twitter (I edited it a bit to take out some of the Twitter shortening)
"For the next two years I'm exclusively working with DC on two Batman books: Allstar and one that I'm writing/drawing myself. So if you're planning on reading my Allstar run (the finale), pick up Snyder's Allstar books NOW. The Batman book I'm doing alone will be my Dark Knight and my Year 100--an Elseworld-like take on Batman. My attempt at an opus. But that won't start until after Allstar is wrapped up. So if you plan on reading these 14+ issues of Sean Gordon Murphy Batman, best grab Allstar now. Allstar has an amazing talent pool, and I'm honored to be involved. Thanks to both Scott Snyder and DC Comics for the best gig ever."So there you have it. Pretty awesome news. Note: All-Star is such a weird book. It's both been talked about as an on-going and a finite series (as Murphy just said, he's drawing the "finale"), it's important to note that the finite talk is reportedly about the first major story, and I believe Snyder has talked about doing another story afterwards with Lee Bermejo. Anyways, this all lines up with what I expected. An alternate continuity-ish take on Batman, written and drawn by Murphy. Surprised it's a series and not a OGN or something. Either way, I'm excited.

Put this one in "things I forgot to post about when I got back from vacation." If you remember, a little while ago, after looking at some of the stuff Sean Murphy was posting on Twitter, I questioned if he had his own Batman project outside of his planned All-Star Batman issues for next year.
Turns out, he totally does. Earlier last week he tweeted that whatever he's currently drawing (and writing) is its own thing and not All-Star. Obviously, there's no word on whatever this is. In hindsight, kind of surprised it wasn't announced at something like SDCC since he's seemed to have been drawing it for a little bit now. If I had to guess, given how he said he was redesigning a lot of things, I'm going to guess graphic novel or some sort of one shot type deal. Hell, maybe it's a full mini series. We'll have to wait, I guess.

Keep on rolling in the Rebirth. Don't know if solicits will be next week... maybe? Five Wednesday months never cease to screw with me.
- Batman #5: Batman and Gotham go punch punch.
- Nightwing #3: I know what you're doing, cover.
- Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #1: I mean... it's pretty much issue #2, but whatever.
- Harley Quinn #2: Zombies and Harley!

Day late, dollar short... well, I don't make any money off this site anymore, so I don't care! Just didn't feel like reading half my pull (all the Image and Vertigo books) yesterday, so I took a break. Nevertheless, here we are. More new Rebirth, some new Image titles and some classics holding strong.

So like I said, I've got a new feature with the site, and here it is: My full play through of Telltale's Batman series. I've got the first episode broken up into five parts and they're all uploaded. 1080p, 60FPS (not sure if these games even run at 60), no commentary, no annoying intros, no "PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE" annotations, just straight gameplay.
You can find the first videos at this YouTube playlist. I'll also have it embedded in this post after the jump, along with my quick thoughts on the episode.

Scott Snyder returns to Batman next week, and that's a thing to take note of.
- All-Star Batman #1: Batman and Two-Face on a road trip, I'm sure it'll go well.
- Detective Comics #938: The team finally fights the Colony.
