SPOILERS: Batman #25

Nothing is funny, and that's the problem.

SPOILERS: All-Star Batman #11

Random note, but I really like the design of the villain of this arc.

SPOILERS: Nightwing #23

Dick Grayson is a pretty shitty boyfriend.

SPOILERS: Batwoman #4

At the end of the day, this arc was just too plain.

SPOILERS: Batgirl #5

First arc over, and as it stands, I don't know if I'm going to continue reading this book or not.

The Spoilers:

The only thing of note here is that in order to beat Teacher or whatever her name is, Babs has to sort of will her photographic memory out of her or something. Goes back to what Fruit Bat taught her in the first issue... Beats her, sets up Teacher's students with Fruit Bat, gives Kai the big ol "SEE YA," then goes back to Burnside after she gets a call from Frankie.

The Opinion:

In five issues, the only thing of note to happen in this entire arc was the memory thing, and to be fair, it's the only thing that is making me not drop the book right here and now. I said this last month, but this book just seems like a cheap imitation of the Stewart/Fletcher/Tarr run and would have liked to have seen Hope Larson take it in a different direction. Understandable why DC would want to continue it as is, but it fell flat for me. Nothing memorable was contained in these issues and worst of all I just don't feel anything towards it. I didn't like it, I didn't hate it, I just don't feel anything. It left zero impression other than me wishing it was different. On top of that, it's one of those few books that really didn't do anything with Rebirth, like establish ties to the DCU that it couldn't use before, while the rest of the line up (mostly) is tripping on Member Berries, and it's been great as a fan of the DCU. So yeah... further isolating this book than where it was before and trying to mimic the past feel of it just did absolutely no favors. I'll stick around to see where things go with this memory deal, but the promise of Babs getting a new boyfriend central to the next arc really is the exact opposite of what I want, so who knows.
