Ra's should wear a suit more often, that's my biggest take away from this issue.
Surprise, hero goes to place in their past and everyone wants them dead! Whoops.
Batman heads to the past, then gets Metal, meanwhile Nightwing fights everyone.

So, this preview was posted by Newsarama. Normally, I just take a cropped picture and put up a link to where the preview is, but Newsarama is extra garbage lately. I could give you a top ten list about how garbage Newsarama is, but I haven't the time.
So considering Newsarama posts previews, covers and other art that DC gives to other sties as "exclusives," watermark images and all, I don't feel that particularly bad for just posting their shit here, all things considered.
Preview after the jump!

I really enjoy how quickly they're getting this Night of the Monster Men story out. Benefits of double shipping, I guess.
- Batman #8: NIGHT OF
- Nightwing #6: THE MONSTER MEN
- Harley Quinn #5: I don't know, maybe? While I read it, I've quickly gone back to "there's no real point in discussing this series." I just wish it had more substance, but it just keeps going back to the well... that admittedly does well for DC, but you could do so much more.

Why couldn't this issue open with Kai having gotten his ass kicked? Have I gotten the point across that I hate that guy? Boy that second issue really soured me on him. I feel like I should probably drive that point home a bit more.
File this one in "news that was pretty easy to see coming," because Batgirl is getting a new artist come 2017. When Rafael Albuquerque was announced to be the artist of a new Hit Girl series, it was clear his time was coming to an end, because there was no way both would work out (hey, American Vampire), in fact, he might have mentioned he was doing six issues and that's it. So like I said, not a surprise.
Christian Wildgoose will take over come January, starting with issue #7. He's a new name for me, but if the art above is any indication, I'm sure he'll do just fine. With Wildgoose joining Hope Larson, issue #7 will see Batgirl return to a more gentrified Burnside, so basically it'll be the South Park episode, probably.
My opinion on the matter? Completely fine with it. That art above looks gorgeous, and while I'm a fan of Albuquerque, and enjoy his work on Batgirl currently, it just seems like an odd tonal fit that hasn't quite clicked. Also, like I said, saw this coming, so I never got too particularly attached.
Please no Kai.

Last week of September!
- Detective Comics #941: Night of the Monster Men continues where I bet more monsters will be fought. Risky bet, I know, but I got a feeling.
- Batgirl #3: For the love of god, let's hope there's some actual Batgirl action this issue instead of Babs going "KAI KAI KAI, I KISS THE KAI, HE SO CUTE, BUT HE DANGEROUS, KAAAAAAAI" ugh.
I was going to have another post about the second episode of the Telltale Batman series today, or at the very least, later this week, but seems my elgato (thing I use to record game footage) didn't want to register my "record" click, so I got absolutely nothing of my play through. Whoops. Might write something up about it, might just call it a wash, we'll see.

Because these issues lead directly into the next, kind of pointless posting about the first one then the second, thus having them appear out of order on the site. So this will serve as my post for both Batman #7 and Nightwing #5.

December is here, which means 2017 is right around the corner and that's nuts. Well... I am speaking in terms of solicitations, but I judge the passage of time by comics, so holy crap, December.
What's new this month? Nightwing goes back to Blüdhaven with Marcus To on art. All-Star Batman's first arc concludes, thus JRJR's time on the title, and Harley Quinn has some random artists here and there. All that... and I totally caved.

Shit, solicits will probably come out Monday. Where the hell did this month go? I know I say that a lot, but it's for real this time. Man... the last two weeks really ate up all my time.
- Batman #7: First Tim dies, now Dick is a big old werewolf thing or something? Rough month.
- Nightwing #5: Ditto ^
- Harley Quinn #4: I think this is a one off issue?
TIME FOR FHIZ'S GAMING MINUTE! BioShock is still a really good game. Got that collection this week. Look pretty good for an old game. Also got the new Don't Starve expansion, but man for as much as I like that game, I never have the time for it. Darkest Dungeon comes out for PS4 next week and I think JazzPunk too? Yeah, let's see when I have the time to play those.
OH YEAH... that second episode of the Batman series comes out real soon too, I believe.

For whatever reason, whenever I do the pre jump text for the write ups of this series, all I want to do is write "The birds are back in town" over and over again in the style of that Thin Lizzy song.

There are good things about sleeping 12 hours straight, and then there are the bad "where the hell did the day go?" things that come with doing stuff like that. Once again, I had a shit ton of comics to read left on a Sunday. Image needs to spread out the titles I like so they're not all loaded on one week, thank you very much.

It's pretty good when most of your complains about a line up of books are either hair or in this case teeth, so much teeth! Because dumb hangups aside, everything's been real solid with Gotham and Rebirth. Now if only I wasn't so damn tired all the time, I could read more.

So how we all dealing the day after overwhelmingly tepid tech announcements? Ordered a PS4 Pro, because fuck it, whatever, I got a 4K HDR TV, might as well have my games look nicer. iPhone though? I can't even understand how phone upgrades work these days, so I'm just not paying attention there.
- All-Star Batman #2: Batman! Two-Face! KGBeast... He's alright? I guess.
- Detective Comics #940: Well, Tim was the only Robin who hadn't died.
- Batgirl & The Birds of Prey #2: Does anyone die in this one? No? Well, boo.
- Gotham Academy: Second Semester #1: ...I wonder if they timed the release of this book for when kids were getting back to school?
Thinking about checking out that Young Animals Doom Patrol book, even though I've never read any Doom Patrol before. I know, I know, shut up. I read a lot as it is already. Hardly have time to go back to the classics.

Hope the Owls story really isn't wrapped up in four issues, they have seemed to be a total non-factor in the grand scheme of things.
Also, in other news, Tim Seeley is co-writing the issues of Suicide Squad that tie into the Justice League vs. Suicide Squad event this winter. That'll probably be cool. Maybe they'll even be a full 20 pages!

Not going to lie, after the Year Book issues, I was not looking forward to this book in terms of the art, but maybe the colorists make all the difference, because this (and the annual) looks night and day from the stuff Adam Archer was drawing in those previous issues. Fits what Kerschl did before him, like a glove. Speaking of the annual, I know I said on Twitter I'd get to a full post about it, but I've worked over 30 hours these past three days, so I'll save it for stack rundown this weekend.

Oh hey, I'm back. Nothing to read this week, kind of nice. Needed a break. September! Comics! It's happen, I have it on good authority.
- Batman #6: Gotham Girl is apparently going to be a big part of this book, I bet this issue will set some of that up... I mean, I looked at the cover, I pretty much know all there is to know now.
- Nightwing #4: I guess they deal with the Owls this issue and then next stop is Night of the Monster Men.
- Harley Quinn #3: Harley and Poison Ivy kill a bunch of zombies. I bet this will be eloquent and nuanced.
Looking forward to the Night of the Monster Men story to see how this sort of stuff works in Rebirth.
Hey, that's not the originally solicited cover. Someone seems to be missing on the left.
But get what, you ask, Philippe?
...What is this website anymore?
