Rebirth Annuals Hit this November

November solicitations are just around the corner, and with it comes another fifth week. Rebirth will have been around just long enough (especially with double shipping) where it would make sense to have annuals to fill out that week. Batman gets one, and boy is it star studded in terms of creative team.

BATMAN ANNUAL #1

“SILENT NIGHT”! A hush of winter snowfall has fallen over Gotham City…but a quiet night in this place is never truly quiet. Batman and his allies—and his many foes—stalk the streets in this icy showcase of top talent.

  1. Wow. That's an incredible lineup. Wonder if it's a one-off winter-themed anthology or if it will tie in into past and/or present storylines. Sounds like the former, but who knows?

    1. Yeah, Snyder really screwed him up when he should've just kept the animated series version. I don't know why he changed it since it was completely unnecessary and made it so much worse.

    2. Yeah, I think most of the changes Snyder made were fine (I mean the whole I idea was that New 52 was a continuity reset and required new origins for everyone), but the Mr. Freeze one is sort of a random one that's like, "If it's not broken, don't fix it." Like he was told he can play in the sand box and make whatever changes he wants so he made changes for the sake of making changes and no other valid reason. So I agree that it's one that should be undone/ignored and go back to the BTAS origin.

  6. That's a great creator list. I like that whoever was writing it got to Neal Adams and just said, "Eh, doesn't matter who we say after this." Seems fair.

I'm so glad to see Paul Dini back on Batman. His 'Tec run is still a favorite of mine
