  1. Are you going to read Steve Orlando's supergirl??? I would normally have zero interest in that character but I almost feel like I want to try it due to his Midnighter work

    1. It's on my radar for the same reason. Will probably at least give the Rebirth a shot and see if I'm interested from there.

  2. I'm wondering if DC will be confronted over the pricing of "All-Star Batman" given all of the other titles solicited for August at $4.99 are 48 pages rather than ("ASB's") 40. That move immediately evokes the thought-it-was-retired New 52 inflating price structure that I honestly recall as having been inaugurated by bumping Snyder's "Batman" to a base price of $3.99/32 pages.

It seems obvious for DC to take advantage of Snyder's market dominance, but muddying "the line" just two months into a line wide revamp that is inclusive of a highly-publicized price reduction seems to communicate a message of inevitability that I would think DC might be reticent to invite within even the first full year. I'll be relieved if this turns out to be a situation where the issue is ad-free, or inclusive of a digital redemption code (a value-add that Marvel is currently using to its advantage while DC seems to pick daisies), or perhaps there is a lot least a card stock gatefold cover, etc. -- but right now I have a bad feeling.

After all, there is no recurring John's title -- so will he also command a higher cover price in the vein of Snyder? I imagine Morrison would be an obvious candidate. So what does this apparent secondary line look like, and on what objective criteria (on whose authority?) is a writer's pedigree evaluated? It's a seemingly messy and potentially self-defeating decision that I hope is explained sooner than later; I'm otherwise extremely excited for "Rebirth" and remain hopeful for the very best.

    1. It honestly makes sense to me, given the amount of people working on the title. In the first issue alone, you've got Scott Snyder, JRJR, Danny Miki, Dean White, Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire, on top of that, you got the letterers and editors. Got to pay for that somehow. The $2.99 thing was quite honestly a courtesy of DC, as much of the market has moved to $3.99. Even Didio sounded unsure when speaking about that, saying they aim to keep it going as long as they can.
