SPOILERS: Detective Comics #957

Spoilers: The answer is a sanctimonious hypocrite.

Batman Group August 2017 Solicitations

Metal, metal, metal, metal, metal.

SPOILERS: The Flash #22

What if it's not Dr. Manhattan, but really Geoff Johns keeping all the good continuity to himself?

SPOILERS: Batman #23

This issue was worth it for the dry humor alone.

SPOILERS: Batwoman #3

There's a bad thing happening and Batwoman has to stop it. Imagine that?

Looking Forward: January 6th, 2016

Forgot to do this post this morning. Got stuck finishing the story in Black Ops 3... holy shit, that game never friggen ends.
  • Batman and Robin Eternal #14: I guess we're doing a flashback issue with Bruce and Scarecrow doing stuff.
  • Detective Comics #48: I've got no idea what this book is supposed to be anymore. Probably going to get another big shakeup when Bruce is back.
Happy new year, I guess!

Detective Comics #48 Preview

Spoilers: I'm probably going to complain about scrunched up looking faces and bad looking Bat ears on cowls for the next couple of months.

(Source: Comicosity)

SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #13

More Cassandra origins! Sure, it's kinda sorta thematically the same, but what do you want? She got erased! But for real... has anyone complained about this version of Cass? Because that sure would be stupid for multiple reasons.

SPOILERS: Black Canary #6

After an extended hiatus, Black Canary is reunited! Get it... cus it's a band and the book missed a month and some change? Bands go on breaks and stuff... GET IT?

Stack Rundown, 12/27/2015

It's the last Stack Rundown of the year, and I've managed to put down the gin and tonics long enough to write about (let alone read) comics. So, shall we?

Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death #1 Preview

Man, the art looks real good here. Hope we don't get any fill-in, because right now the art is a real big selling point. Hopefully the story is just as good.

Batman and Robin Eternal #13 Preview

I think it is impossible for Dean White to color an issue and me to not like how it looks.

(Source: ComicVine)

Looking Forward: December 30th, 2015

One more week to go.
  • Batman and Robin Eternal #13: More Cassandra Cain!
  • Black Canary #6: Annie Wu returns to illustrating the series.
Man, I put max effort into this post, didn't I?

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #12

We find out what Batman did! Kind of... but probably not really, because I mean come on, you going to believe every "Batman did this thing that goes against his code" story you read before the end? What are you, a sucker?

SPOILERS: Robin: Son of Batman #7

So here we are, the penultimate issue of Robin War, and I have no idea what to feel towards this story.

Batman and Robin Eternal #15's Cover Taunts Me

So hey look, it's a new cover for Batman and Robin Eternal #15 illustrated by Guillem March, cool right? If you follow me on twitter, you might know of my love for Guillem March's work. He's one of my hands down favorites, no question. I loved the short-lived Azrael book he illustrated, starring Michael Lane, written by David Hine. That book fucking ruled. Every now and then I lament how DC never collected it and I can't even buy it in the digital format.

SO HERE COMES DC WITH THIS BULLSHIT. They know! They know exactly what they're doing! "Hey, that asshole who leaked our WTF certified covers really likes that Azrael book we don't give a shit about, wanna fuck with him? Let's make a cover that's sort of like that thing he likes but totally isn't!"

Very funny, Dan.

Now that Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain are out of the way, you will have to feel the wrath of Michael Lane Azrael fans! There are dozens of us! DOZENS!

Stack Rundown, 12/20/2015

Merry Christmas or something! I read a shit ton of books this week so it's a real slim write up for each issues. Maybe a couple sentences is all you get!

Thursday, December 17, 2015

Looking Forward: December 23rd, 2015

Easy week for the holiday, that's for sure.
  • Batman and Robin Eternal #12: Something something, Mother is a bad lady.
  • Robin: Son of Batman #7: Damian is fighting Talons? Working with Talons? Who knows?
I'm not even quite sure there's anything the following week.

SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #11

It's time for Cassandra Cain New 52 origin time! ...or is it DCYOU origin? Does DC even use the term "DCYOU" anymore? What did that even mean? "They're about YOU" what? No they aren't, shut up. Anyways... Cass!

SPOILERS: We Are Robin #7

The Court of Owls have revealed themselves to the Robins and what is it that they want? Who knows? I mean really... that's not a pun. Who? We don't seem any closer to learning.

SPOILERS: Batgirl #46

I  still don't know who this dude that spilled over from Catwoman is. I mean, not this book's fault... just saying.

SPOILERS: Harley Quinn #23

You know who I don't care about in this book? Mason. You know who like 2/3 of this book is about? Mason. Do the math!

Batman Group March 2016 Solicitations

The big 5-0 month for a number of titles, and to celebrate, you get to pay more for all your favorites who managed to survive the New 52 for this long. Along with the extra money, you get extra pages... but I'd expect some fill-in on just about any of the issues other than Batman. It also seems as some things might be coming to an end, like look at that Catwoman solicit, it specifically says the end to the current team's story. But it is also solicitation text which doesn't really mean anything half the time.

Other changes to note:
  • Fernando Pasarin seems to bee the new permanent artist of Detective because DC apparently is trying it's hardest to get me to drop the book once and for all.
  • Greg Capullo is back and will be promptly leaving for an undetermined amount of time... but if what I've heard ends up being true... You know what, NOPE. Nothing
  • Batman and Robin Eternal is ending this month.
  • Grayson seems to be working for the Court now too... Robin War spoilers?
  • Are we really making Harley look like her movie counterpart now or are we just doing a cover?
Full solicitations after the jump.

Batgirl #46 Preview

After the wedding issue, which I wasn't a big fan of, I'm looking forward to getting back to more... not that stuff. Man, I'm eloquent.

Stack Rundown, 12/13/2015

Surprisingly enough, this was one of the lighter weeks for comics I've had in awhile. Felt good... Still didn't have time to read most of the books until today, but at least I didn't have to read 8 or so in one sitting.

We Are Robin #7 Preview

Hmm, you'd think once Dick realized that the Court was involved, he'd go "well, I done fucked up" and show a little bit more urgency.

(Source: Comic Vine)

Harley Quinn #23 Preview

Upper right corner of the last page.

THAT IS ALL.

(Source: ManCave Daily)

Looking Forward: December 16th, 2015

I forgot to write this post this morning!
  • Batman and Robin Eternal #11: Dick and Harper meet Sculptor, whose that? Probably the person who sculpts all of Mother's children's minds!
  • Batgirl #46: Wow this one is late! But Spoiler!
  • Harley Quinn #23: Harley in a prison? Which page has the soap joke on it?
  • We Are Robin #7: Tim and Jason punching each other in the face, but they're so friendly in Eternal!
Now it's time to post the preview of one of these issues!

SPOILERS: Batman #47

That last page is pretty much worth the price of admission alone and oddly enough, Gordon and Bloom have become the least interesting part about this book.

SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #10

Azreal has a really bad haircut. That's the one thing you should take away from this issue.

SPOILERS: Detective Comics #47

Note: This issue takes place after Grayson #15

So, continuing from Dick Grayson's heel turn, everyone's sort of in a bad place.

SPOILERS: Grayson #15

Note: This issue takes place before Detective Comics #47

Remember how in Batman and Robin Eternal Tim's a little pissed off that Dick pulled a move that's real similar to Batman being a real prick... Yeeeeeeeeeah.

SPOILERS: Gotham Academy #13

Note: This isn't an ordered tie-in, it can be read whenever in terms of this week's books.

I've always wanted a character in this book to be the child of a Court of Owls member, so does this issue give me what I wanted? Well... eh, close enough.

Stack Rundown, 12/06/2015

Games are still my comics enemy. I beat Fallout 4 (platinum trophy son) but now I made a terrible mistake of buying a bunch of shit at Black Friday... Then christmas comes, then my birthday. Fuck. Why is everything open world?!

Thursday, December 3, 2015

Looking Forward: December 9th, 2015

It's all about that Robin War next week.
  • Grayson #15: Robin War!
  • Detective Comics #47: Robin War!
  • Gotham Academy #13: Robin War!
  • Batman and Robin Eternal #10: Not Robin War! Oooooooh, look at Mr. Individual, he's so coooooool.
  • Batman #47: EDIT! Apparently this one is coming out too? That's what I get for using DC's site. or not, fucking I don't know.
ROBIN WAR!

Detective Comics #47 Preview

Weird that this was posted the day before the actual crossover begun.

(Source: CBR)

SPOILERS: Batman and Robin Eternal #9

Oh hey, it's that guy we all knew was coming... At least it's not a Lincoln March situation where I spend 30 weeks asking if this is the issue where the reveal everyone knows is coming is actually going to happen.

SPOILERS: Robin War #1

If you've ever wondered: Would would Damian think of all these people calling themselves Robin? Well... The answer is: tell them they're stupid and threaten them with pain.

SPOLERS: Gotham Academy #12

So here's some news... This might be the last regular issue of the series? Karl Kerschl's last at the very least. That... sucks.

SPOILERS: Harley's Little Black Book #1

Harley gets to meet her childhood idol, Wonder Woman... But Wonder Woman has only been around a handful of years like the Justice League, how is that possib--SHHHHHHHHHH. No questions.
