Welcome to Stack Highlights, it's like Stack Rundown but with a fraction of the effort!
And the mother of year award goes to... literally anyone but Lady Shiva
Lots of style, just need a little more easily discernible substance for my tastes.
I'm not sure exactly why most of this issue happens, but it sure is cool.

Annnnnnnd, we're back! Convergence is done, real comics is back! Well... soonish, because for some reason, DC decided that having a Bat related book come out that first week post-Convergence was a bad idea, so here I am, having to wait another week to get back to normal... Then it's like "Oh here you go, five books" two of them being Batman and Detective, which seems idiotic to release on the same day. Oh well.
- Batman #41: His official name is "GorBat," and I will acknowledge no other moniker. End of story.
- Detective Comics #41: It's like Batman, but not!
- Catwoman #41: Catwoman gets back to being Catwoman, and the crime lord. That's cool.
- Gotham Academy #7: DAMIAAAAAAAAN
- Harley Quinn #17: Harley's got a gang, time for her to "do good."

Oh, hey guys, remember me? I'm FHIZ, I run a Batman site, and sometimes I post about professional wrestling and suck-ass Krillin (fuck you, you piece of no-nose shit). June is coming and Convergence is ending, so I guess that means I'm back to doing this. So, HOT SCOOP FOR YOU!
Is Detective Comics set for a new creative team as early as October? I tend to figure shit out through various Twitter postings and what not, so let's see if I can do it again. Fitting that we're talking about Detective Comics.
EXHIBIT A: Detective Comics #41 (slated for release in two weeks) was solicited with Francis Manapul illustrating the title, since then, #42 and #43 have been solicited with Fernando Blanco, who is in fact not Francis Manapul. This sort of stuff usually happens when an artist moves on to something else.
EXHIBIT B: Just minutes ago, Francis Manapul posted to his Instagram a WIP shot of a Detective Comics cover (he hasn't posted interiors in a long time) with the caption "Curtain call," a term that is used to signify the end of something.
EXHIBIT C: I could have used this one in A as an exhibit inside an exhibit, but more points makes me seem more legit, so C it is! Comixology's pre-order page for #41 now shows Fernando Blanco as the illustrator of the issue in question. Now, let's not take that as the word of god, because Comixology can (and has) gotten that section mixed up from time to time, but if it's changed ahead of release, I'm betting it's true. We'll see tomorrow (probably) when the lettered cover goes up on the pre-order page.
EXHIBIT D: If the current creative team's final issue is in September, that would mean the new team's first would be in October, the same month Mystic U got pushed back to, and I'm willing to bet that's when Dark Universe will launch as well... So maybe it's safe to assume DC's doing their "second wave" of DC You or whatever the not-New 52 is called. It's also worth nothing that Peter Tomasi has said that one of his two unannounced projects would be launching in October as well. Not saying I think he's the next Tec writer (probably Batman Eternal 2) but it lends credibility to October being a thing for DC and new stuff.
So that's it. Not giving my opinion or anything, just the observations. Do what you will with these. DETECTIVE FHIZ OUT!
When not reached out to, DC Comics refused to comment. Their silence speaks volumes in my imagination!

Two! Only two books to read this week. I think that's by far the fewest comics I've had to read in any given week in a long, long time. Damn it Convergence and Secret Wars... you ruin everything. Well, not everything... but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be left reading only Howard the Duck and maybe whatever Rick Remender writes for Marvel, because other than that, I just don't see the point in investing the time in Marvel comics anymore. YOU HERE THERE MICKEY!?

It may be the summer, but the students at Gotham Academy are still in session... because if they were let out of the school, I don't think anything good would happen. "Mr. Zsasz eh?! Well how do you like some M80s, huh!?"
...WELL NOW, what's coming from this book in June?

Welcome to Post-FHIZ got a full time job because you jerks don't buy enough stuff from my ads and also there were like three accidents on the road I take home plus I had to pick up the Witcher and fuck why am I doing this there's Witcher to play Gotham Spoilers... Where posts come pretty late... still trying to figure out what to do about this when real books start up again. Might just wake up early and write them up before work. We'll see!
What's new this month!? Well, because DC can't go too long without some extra Harley in their lives, we got a Harley Quinn road trip special with Catwoman and Poison Ivy... so fuck yeah. There's another new artist on We Are Robin with Rob Haynes, and I remain confused as to what the actual art situation is on that book. Fernando Blanco is still drawing Detective Comics... I mean, I like Blanco, but uuuuuh... No one is going to sit here and tell me Manapul's art wasn't a big part of the draw of that series. And that's it!
Man, I can't wait until DC's real books come back. Down with Convergence!

As it still turns out, having a full time job during the week and then having to take care of a crazy puppy by yourself over the weekend, isn't all that helpful in terms of having time to read comics... as you may tell by me posting this sometime past 7pm here on the East coast... annnnnnnd the Witcher 3 comes out next week, so a general "god damn it" to everything.

Turns out having a new full-time job isn't the best for reading comics. Read basically everything either last night or this morning, which worked fine for five books, but when it gets to one of those weeks where I've got a lot to read, I don't knoooooow.
Also, I guess I'll give my quick thoughts on each of those DC previews that were released.

I haven't been too hot on this current run of Detective Comics for a few key reasons, and with the Batman status quo change, I was a bit concerned about how this book was going to differentiate itself and stand out (one of its problems) when both it and Batman would be telling stories about the GCPD and the new Batman. Well, I know that I should be cautiously optimistic, but there's a glimmer of hope within these 8 pages.
