SPOILERS: Batman #9

It's saying something when a LoSH character hanging out in Batman is hardly the most WTF moment of an issue.

SPOILERS: Gotham by Midnight #7

As IA closes in around the Midnight Shift, there's demons... or something in some apartment buildings... or something.

The Spoilers:

So, this Weaver guy, his dad shot himself when he was a kid... and there was a demon or something there, but no one noticed? In the present, he's super spaced out as Kate Spencer basically tells him how fucked his unit is, which gets him to finally tell her what the Midnight Shift is about.

Elsewhere, Drake and the Doctor are investigating an apartment complex where a bunch of people just look like they died in the middle of their every day life, and apparently it was some demon, which means Corrigan/Spectre has to come deal with it after he's done praying at Sister Justine's old apartment.

Then the guy who saw Drake shoot some people while she was a narc a couple issues back int he past tells IA what he saw. Kate once again reminds Weaver/Readers that it seems like someone is gunning for the Midnight Shift.

The Opinion:

And now we're back to me wondering what this book is even trying to accomplish. I'll say that the one interesting part of this story is the mystery of who is trying to take down the Midnight Shift, but at the same time, I think I'm only interested in it because it's the only tangible element of the plot. The supernatural element of this book, the one that's supposed to be the hook, is just such a slow and uninteresting burn. None of it seems connected at all and none of it seems relevant towards Gotham which has been my long standing issue with this book. Sure, maybe when the arc nears its end there will be some revelation that loosely justifies the Gotham setting such as the Miagani name drop last arc, but in the here and now, it's just "I don't know, floor demons or some shit?" That's boring. I'm really starting to come to the end of my line with this book. All that being said, the art is fantastic, so there's that redeeming quality.
