2016 takes something else from us, and this time it's Chew.

SPOILERS: Detective Comics #945

The gift of Clayface, TAKE IT IN MAAAAAAAAAAN. (reference!)

SPOILERS: Batgirl #5

I could make a joke about memory and my feelings towards this arc, but that would be rude.

Batman Group February 2017 Solicitations

Batwoman returns to the world of having her own solo in February.

I'm pretty sure I got through this post without making one reference to wrestling.

Who Wants Some More June Bat Solicitations?

Answer: YOU DO! Because why else would you click on this link? We got Grayson, Detective Comics, Gotham by Midnight, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Gotham Academy this time. Gotham Academy looks to have (probably?) some fill in art, but that guest star is one of the first things that came to mind when I heard about this book, and holy shit I'm so happy it's happening. Also, Tec gives us some more info on the new Batman... seems it's a GCPD thing. Speaking of GCPD, June is a good month for fans of GCPD related ladies, as we see Kate Spencer and Renee Montoya return.

  1. One of my favorite issues of BQM's Batgirl was when Damian had to pretend to be on a school field trip, so I am *delighted* to see him joining Gotham Academy, if only for a little while.

And it looks like Manapul and Buccellato are finally getting to do "Gotham Central starring Harvey Bullock" just like they've always wanted. Hope it picks up in June, but I'm really only buying it for the artwork.

    1. It's precisely the tone that 'Tec has needed to adopt for a while. The title as a "procedural" with or without Batman makes sense to me.

  4. Wow Renee Montoya and Kate Spencer in one month. SO much of their storylines still sort of "exist" because of the Batman Grandfather Clause but obviously Montoya won't be The Question. Though Kate still being Manhunter seems kind of likely.

Any repeal of Rucka's Montoya work feels regressive but a barebones Animated Series take on her and maybe a wink and nod about this not being her first rodeo would be enough to satisfy my needs. She still presumably dated Kate Kane back in the day, has been GCPD for a while, might've "quite the force and taken some time off to find herself".

  6. Damn it, DC, stop making me interested in Damian Wayne, I don't want to like him, he replaced my favorite Robin.
