What if it's not Dr. Manhattan, but really Geoff Johns keeping all the good continuity to himself?

And there goes February. 1/6th done with this year! Think about that! Pretty solid week to close out the month. There were a number of new series that I decided to read, literally just because, some books had arcs end, some had new ones begin, overall, lots of variation.

I knew there was one book that got pushed back from this week, Harley. I gladly took the less amount of work this week though.
- Batman Eternal #48: I don't know, Penguin is back in control? ...I sure hope things just don't go back to regular after 52 damn issues.
- Grayson #8: Cover features Dick punching Minos in the face, hopefully we get some big revelations.
- Detective Comics #40: MAN, I hope this book gets better after Convergence. I feel like I have to read Detective, but man the stories in it are BORING.
- Harley Quinn #15: Harley goes EVEN MORE CRAZY.

It has long been thought that Batman writer Scott Snyder thinks horses are assholes and goes out of his way whenever possible to have terrible things happen to them within the pages of his comics, but is it possible that one Alfred Pennyworth is above horses on Scott Snyder's personal shit list?
Gotham Spoilers investigates.
Secret Origins #10 came out today, featuring the "secret origin" of Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl... duh. Now, there have been Bat characters featured in this series before, and I've read the stories, but never felt a need to comment on them because they were all pretty standard stuff, not providing anything new to the current events of the character... But Batgirl's story in this issue changes that, and it's definitely worth talking about.
There's been a lot of incorrect information about this issue floating about as well, along with some unnecessary outrage, because the internet... So with those things in mind, I'm not doing a full on spoiler post or anything, but I'm still going to talk about how this story relates to the current arc as there's some pretty important stuff (that may be covered in #40 regardless) to be had.
Well, that was certainly unexpected... What is "that" you ask? Well, if you read this issue, you know exactly what I'm talking about and now let's just stop being vague because I'm running on and this is going nowhere so I'm just gonna get to the regular post now okay bye.

Man, it has been a long week for me, and I am tired as all hell. But despite it all, I got this post out on time! Even if I did read two of the books this morning, only to realize there was a third I had left to read when I was all ready to go in the first place. Oh well!

With Convergence on the way, Catwoman will be going through a few more changes, one of which would be a new ongoing artist in David Messina... But before we get there, it seems outgoing artist Garry Brown has revealed a bit of what to expect, having posted a couple pages of #40 on twitter.
I got lucky this week, woke up early and got all the website work out of the way early despite a job interview and having a puppy to watch like a hawk... next week though, that ain't happening.
- Batman #39: The penultimate issue of Endgame, there's a lot of people in this one!
- Batman Eternal #47: Are we going to reveal Lincoln March this time? Since we're going into the final month and if we still don't know the bad guy by the week after next, then what the fuck?
- Gotham Academy #5: Olive and that guy kissing in a tree, K-I-S-and I'm done.
- Arkham Manor #5: Penultimate issue of the series itself! I hope this one wraps up strongly.
- Catwoman #39: Personally, I wonder if the mob angle will continue past Convergence. Ultimately, I'd like Selina to stop being so damn melodramatic.
- Gotham by Midnight #4: This might be the end of the line for me. Get relevant, book.
One of those weeks, just a whole lot of books. I still feel like I'm missing one for some reason.

Oh my god, just say "Lincoln March," just have him show up, for god's sake... "Haha, Batman is an idiot, he thinks I'm behind it, but it's what his darker half wants him to believe, stoopid!"
Just get to the reveeeeeeal.
Also, I appreciate that Tim Seeley uses all sorts of stuff from all the various things he's written at DC, seeing shades of his two Talon issues here.
The more and more I think about it, the more and more I hope this superpowered Robin thing is just temporary. I can potentially see the appeal of the idea if DC was looking at ways to shake things up, but this honestly just seems like a "don't fix what ain't broke" situation for me.

Well, next week should be interesting in terms of running the site. I'm going to have a 9 week old puppy so, reading comics and dedicating times to write stuff on the blog might be a little difficult.
- Batman Eternal #46: Ra's al'Ghul is here, because fuck it, why not?
- Batman and Robin #39: I was wondering what would come of these last three issues before convergence, and given that the book is effectively cancelled, I'm not sure we'll be getting a lot of plot.
- Batgirl #39: I bet we get the reveal that Babs' computer map of her mind has gone all Skynet on her.
AS ALWAYS. You got comic stuff you want to buy online? You should do it via the stores I got links to on my banners, like all the cool kids. That way, you support me being totally awesome with this website you're looking at right now. WHOA! How'd I know that?! I'm a wizard, that's why.

In case you missed it, a whole boatload of stuff was revealed about DC's post-Convergence books coming in June, one of which is a six-issue mini-series from writers Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray along with artist Stephane Roux, Harley Quinn/Power Girl.
Given the past arc, Power Girl is no stranger to Harley Quinn, but the question remained what the book would actually be about? Concerned overly attached to continuity fans would point out that Power Girl is back on Earth 2, as if Harley Quinn gave a damn anyways, but HAH! Harley's got you beat. Revealed in an interview with Newsarama, the story is actually a flashback of sorts, taking place literally in between two panels of issue #12. Towards the end of that issue, Harley and PG are teleported out of this dimension, only to come back the next panel, with two weeks having passed. So, Power Girl getting married is something to expect, and Harley in a space suit with a bunch of rescued alien pets will be part of it.
I'm sure this will be just as dumb and crazy as the regular book is (in the best possible way), if not, even more so than usual.
This is one of those issues where a character has some commentary on the current events that just highlights every problem I'm having, then I try and sit and think whether or not the book is just being meta or totally oblivious.
It's Harley Quinn trying to go on a date with Batman, so it's pretty fair to expect plenty of innuendo, inappropriate comments, dream sequences, and big giant phallic symbols on the very first page, just 'cus.

No, you should not expect Bane to be the bad guy. I know covers, judging books, all that, blah blah blah... but given all these covers, if we're at #49 and the book is still dicking around with Batman going to everybody yelling "WHAT'S GOING ON!?!" then we have some serious problems.

I usually write something to go along with these previews, but given my current frustration with this damn book, I'm just going to hum the Ghostbusters theme to myself. So, uh... ::Ghostbusters theme::

Welcome to February, here's two new issues from Grant Morrison, each sort of fucking insane, now let your mind fail to process them! Good? Now here's two Scott Snyder horror books! Oh, and by the way, Saga is back as well!
This was a good week.

Shot week next week, hopefully after Convergence, these books can get spaced out better again.
- Batman Eternal #45: Ghosts or something?
- Harley Quinn Valentine's Day Special #1: Harley wins a date with Batman!
Fun fact, after next week, I'm going to have a two month old puppy to take care of... Let's see how fun it is to write up a billion books with a little dog chewing on everything and pooping everywhere.
You should go to websites I've got banners for and buy stuff, JUST SAYIN.

First off, hey look, it's Jae Lee not Ethan van Sciver. I'm not complaining. Second off, I guess the person on the cover isn't much of a spoiler if you read the solicit text. Third off... well, let's just go to the reveal, shall we?
