Final Batman Eternal Solicitations

Final issues of Batman Eternal are on the horizon, four in March, and the final issue on April 1st. Cliff Chiang is on the covers, while Fernando Blanco, Alvaro Martinez, Paulo Siqueira and others are on art duties. Only one blurb of text was released for this set, so here you go:
This month in BATMAN ETERNAL: The epic Bat-story over a year in the making comes to a stunning end! Gotham City is in flames! Villains are running wild in the streets! Bat-tech has been corrupted! And the mastermind behind it all has put a knife in Batman’s ribs! How will the Dark Knight put an end to this nightmare…and how will it shape the face of Gotham City to come?

  1. Lincoln "Thomas Wayne, Jr." March, Dr. Simon Hurt, are there even any other candidates at this point?

    1. I see what you did there. :)

I guess I subconsciously wrote him off since we just saw him as the main villain of Zero Year. Then again, no one expected the Joker back in Endgame, so I suppose anything's possible.

    2. Could make sense, but it seems a little odd that Snyder would use a character who had been introduced in a Geoff Johns storyline, especially when Snyder already has his own version of Thomas Jr. in Lincoln March.

    3. Yeah, Earth 3 Thomas Wayne is Geoff Johns territory. Already has shown up in Justice League post-Forever Evil. I can guarantee you he's not Eternal's big bad.

It's probably going to be Lincoln March. The long shot is Dr. Hurt, but I doubt Snyder is going to step on Morrison's toes like that.

  2. Talia maybe? I'm still thinking Hurt or Thomas Jr like you.

    1. Hopefully I'm not spoiling anything, but Talia is officially dead at the end of Batman, Inc. Not sure if she's getting "resurrected" in Robin Rises (I'm behind in that story) but it would seem a huge stretch.

    2. Ra's and Talia's body fell into a big canyon in The Hunt for Robin. Talia had been dipped in the lazarus pit that takes 24 hours to work, so she and her father will probably show up sometime next year in Batman and Robin.
