Guess what happened to Batman/Superman #12

IT GOT DELAYED.

July 2nd is the new June 18th.

Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, really!? How?! How is this continuing to happen?! I certainly hope that art info has yet to be updated, because if Jae Lee is drawing this one off issue, what the fuck are you doing DC?! The obvious play would be to get someone else to draw this while Lee gets ahead of the next arc. Hopefully that's what is happening, and the delays to this are just due to... shit, I don't know? I mean, the next issue is scheduled to ship two weeks after this... and if Jae Lee is still drawing #12, then I might as just well just get it out of the way and say that #13 got delayed into September.

But anyways, real talk... time to get a new regular artist on the series. Jae Lee is great, but he's not a guy you build a big monthly title around. It's just not going to happen, unless DC wants to start doing what Marvel does and have stories written and illustrated far in advance. I can't remember the last time an issue of this title wasn't altered or delayed, had to have been the last Brett Booth issue, right? What a joke.

  1. Yeah, I dropped this after the Lemire issue. The main draw for me was Lee, and I figure now I'll just wait for his arcs to be collected in trade.

  2. DC won't get their books done ahead of time, since that would require them sticking with a story for more than two months. They're really willing to mess with it, even when doing so leaves lots of plot threads open/hanging.

    Paging Nightwing and Carrie Kelly...

    1. Ding ding ding... everything that's sort of leaked out over the past couple of years definitely doesn't lend itself to rock solid plans.

  3. Jae Lee is definitely one of the most distinct artists out right now, the previous last minute release commissioned by DC was kind of a joke. I don't mind the wait as long as these updates continue.
