September Futures End Creative Teams Announced

Last month, we got the September solicits a bit early, but there was a problem... no word on who was writing or drawing any of the issues. Sure, DC wanted to avoid the whole ordering mess that was last September with the 3D covers, but still, kind of weird/weak/lame/etc.

Today, ahead of August solicits, DC announced the various teams for each issue, and of course, I've got the Bat books all lined up for you.

So there you have it, the rest can be found at your finer comic book related sites. Lot's of fill-in, that's for sure! But, given how these September events go for DC, it's entirely expected. That's the the weird disconnect with the New 52 celebrations (besides September issues generally being a waste of time). Like... OH BOY, the New 52 anniversary! ...But it's by either fill in artists or writers not involved with the main book, eeeeh. I don't know, just doesn't excite me.

That said, the Bat titles have done a pretty good job of retaining some of the regular talent (mostly writers) as well as getting the regular or notable artists to pitch in, like Dustin Nguyen on Batman and Robin. I wouldn't get too comfortable with these solicits though... If Villains Month is any indication, these solicits were probably put together in a pretty quick and dirty way, so don't be surprised to walk into your store or read preview that has a different artist illustrating the issue... Quite a lot of that last year, if I remember correctly.

Final note on these books, you can see some covers (both finished and unfinished) here and here.

Still undecided on how I'm going to cover these. I have to admit, they sound interesting, but like Villains Month, there's a 99% chance of none of these issues mattering at all. I might just do basic reviews of the issue and note what's changed. I'm definitely not going to be devoting 100% effort to these issues, that's for sure.
