Batman and Aquaman #29 Preview

Well... that last double page spread... Man. I really hope this story is what I hope it is... and not what I cynically believe it'll turn out to be (acceptance). I really want Damian back at this point.

(Source: CBR)

  1. Well, we know it will not be merely acceptance, as Tomasi has said this entire arc is the "Prologue" to one of the summer's huge stories beginning in July. As I've said over at CBR, I think it's too early for Damian to come back fully, as DC has too many opportunities yet to milk money out of this situation (not least by trailing things out to the release of the Son of Batman animated feature). But we may very well see something leading in that direction. I have to be honest that Damian was never one of my favorite characters, but he is much too valuable for DC to do away with permanently. Perhaps an evil Damian, either as a clone or a resurrected zombie? Shades of Jason Todd, but comic book writers are not shy about going back to the well, and that would certainly give them a plot thread to play with for a while.

    1. Yeah, I don't think Damian is going to come back completely the way he is. It'll more likely be Damian* with some twist to it. Regardless, alive Damian is better than a dead Damian.

    2. I disagree with Damian coming back and think he should stay dead for the time being. I think it would be too soon. One problem I have with comic book deaths is how fast and often characters come back to life. I also think that with Harper Row as Bluebird, that makes it less likely Damian is back. I could see him as an evil clone, but not the real Damian.
