SPOILERS: So, um... Catwoman. Ouch!

I think Ann Nocenti's run on Catwoman is crap. This comes to no surprise to anyone, given how I've stopped even bothering to review the book on the site. But through the crappy issues we've gotten, and mostly through the incoherent nonsense that was issue #0, the running gag was "Maybe there's two Selina Kyles?" Meaning the crazy lady Ann Nocenti has been writing isn't Selina Kyle. This "theory" gained even more traction when Geoff Johns used Selina Kyle in his Justice League of America who was at the very least, unarguably somewhat more recognizable...

Then Justice League of America #4 happened, and things don't look great for the Selina Kyle I've enjoyed reading recently. Hit the jump for what happened, and be aware, you'll be getting SPOILERS for JLA #4

God damn it Geoff! You shot the wrong one! She was the fun one that I liked! Put the crazy lady in Catwoman out of her misery!

But yeah... entry and exit wound. Gun shot straight to the dome. That was a pretty fucking crazy ending right there. Now, there's obviously going to be more to it, and I'm guessing the tech Amanda Waller has been toying around with in Suicide Squad will come into play (how many times has Deadshot died now?) but still... damn.

  1. Hmm. I haven't been reading this but I understood that Johns was doing a great job characterizing Selina so her getting "killed" is disappointing.

Who's the guy in purple pulling the trigger? Looks like The Outsider from Flashpoint who was actually a pretty cool character.

    1. She was a hell of a lot more enjoyable in JLA than Catwoman currently. There's no way she's actually dead though. Amanda Waller has been bringing people back from the dead left and right in Suicide Squad, or the plot of Trinity War's Phantom Stranger issue has him, Batman, Deadman and Katana retrieving someone from the dead, or something.

And the Outsider is probably the best guess, most people are going with him from what I've seen. Nothing is official yet.

  2. This comment has been removed by the author.

    1. That's the dumbest, most petty bullshit reasoning I've ever read.

    2. Yeah, the artist has nothing to do with the color of her eyes. That's the job of the, how you say, colorist.

  3. I see Geoff Johns still can't go long at all without ridiculous, unnecessary violence.

Shit. What happened to the guy who wrote Teen Titans? I don't usually care as much about heavy violence as others but it's all over the damn place in his books now.

  4. I keep wondering if evil purple-suited-bowler-hat-guy is the Joker with his new face.
Joker was in the Society in it's early days originally, right?

And he kept dropping little "hah"s.
It probably isn't him, but the trigger phrase to seal Selina's fate DID involve Batman talk.
