The full WTF Red Hood and the Outlaws #19 Cover

So, apparently soon to be Red Hood and the Outlaws artist Mico Suayan had the full gatefold image of #19's cover on his art sales site recently, and aside from seeing that Starfire's costume has been filled out a bit more, we got a look at Roy, and the other side of Jason's face... Now, I don't know what this means, but it could be spoilers, so hit the jump to see the full image.

Yep, Jason with no face, very similar to the Joker, and gross as hell looking (but great). Personally, I have to doubt that Jason would literally have his face taken off, and this is probably just something of a symbolic nature.

  1. The end of RHATO 16 Joner was painting the inside of Hood's Mask, acid maybe?

  2. The end of RHATO 16 the Joker is painting something in Hood's Mask

  3. I think the tagline read something like "what's behind the Red Hood" or something. Maybe they'll actually reference the fact he ACTUALLY died since while they've said it in the New 52 no one has got around to explaining that really. Yeah. I wouldn't take it too literally. I mean that Teen Titans issue that just came out had Jokerized Tim on it and that sure didn't happen.

  4. Well at least this one lives up to its WTF status

  5. What if the silver platters have each Bat-family member's face under it???

    1. They're not taking every bat character's face off

    2. Could be why Gail left the book... They'll put the faces back on, but I could see Jason not wanting it back on,

    3. Dude, think for two seconds. They're not going to have Barbara Gordon, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne and god knows who else run around with no face. That's fucking stupid.

  6. Not for very long, no. I'm just thinking about the fact that each Bat title last month ended on a POV shot of a guy with no face holding a bloody covered platter with the intent to freak out the person whose POV we share, whose face we can't see. With faces being so important (and with Two-Face being recruited when he's been mostly absent in the New 52) something's gotta be up. It has to be at least one face, and with Jason apparently missing one it's not a far leap.

    1. Not for very long? You can't just put a face back on. Again. They're not taking off the faces off every bat character. It's common sense.

  7. It's not Alfred's head in the platters that we've been seeing in all the titles outside of Batman throughout the crossover. The reason I believe this is because there was TWO platters at the end of Teen Titans, so unless Joker presents the Bat allies with different parts of Alfred or that he stitches up the head after presenting it to Jason and Tim, I doubt it's Alfred. I believe each platter contains something personal to each character. Jason, his face. Dick, Sonia? Barbara, her father. I know we see him in future covers but we've seen Alfred in other issues and I don't we have seen the Commissioner (Or have we? I don't read any books in the Batman group besides Nightwing and Red Hood). I don't know what would be in Damian's, maybe Titus but that would be really fucked up. Tim, the obvious would be his parents but I'm thinking maybe a lobotomized part of his brain, something Joker was very interested/insulted by and the solicits for TT say that he's not the same after this. Bruce's would unfortunately be Alfred. So yeah, I think Joker is gonna kill the "family" of the Batman family. Thanks for reading my long, and probably wrong, theory.
