It's saying something when a LoSH character hanging out in Batman is hardly the most WTF moment of an issue.
The circus is a strange place, evident by the endless Nightwing stories that come from it.
Man, I sure wish Damian showed up in Batman books too... you know, where it'd make total and complete sense?

Batman #18-29 Rundown
Death of the what? Joker who? We're already talking about what's coming after that! Well, but "we" I mean "Scott Snyder," who has been talking how he structures out future stories on Twitter. While doing so, he let a few details be known about upcoming stories in Batman.
First, Batman #18-20 will be an epilogue arc, so to speak, immediately following the end of "Death of the Family." I'm going out on a limb to say that we'll probably get some more Harper Row stories, as well as some possible guest art for a few, if not all three of those issues. (Note: Again, that's just me guessing.)
Following that, the next big arc will start, emphasis on the "big." The next arc will be 9 issues long according to Snyder, who expressed his preference for long-form storytelling. It has been said that Riddler will play a large part in this story, and Two Face will be featured as well. Red Hood gang is another possibility, but they might be in the three issues in between, I haven't seen anything clear on that yet. Also, goes with out saying, but he plan is to have Greg Capullo draw this arc as well, obviously.
So there you have it, Snyder and Capullo Batman is planned out until February 2014.
