The REAL reason Cartoon Network pulled DC Nation

As you may know, the Cartoon Network DC Nation block was abruptly pulled from airing yesterday. No reason was given, but we do know that the block is coming back in January. But, the episode of Young Justice that was set to air yesterday was available for purchase through iTunes, and the SHOCKING truth as to why DC Nation was pulled came to light.

Hit the jump... FOR THE TRUTH!

No, but really... it was her.

EDIT: For clarification... since some people seem to not understand the concepts of the following...

satire |ˈsaˌtīr|nounthe use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.sarcasm |ˈsärˌkazəm|nounthe use of irony to mock or convey contemptjoke |jōk|nouna thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, esp. a story with a funny punchline
Here's the thing... Dan Didio is a co-publisher at DC comics, which is a division of DC Entertainment which has another branch (on the west coast) that handles animation... Do the math. And if you still think that Stephanie Brown's appearance in this episode is anything more than a funny coincidence given the block being pulled... reevaluate some things.

  1. You must be kidding me, they've stopped Young Justice AGAIN?
How fckn hard is it to just make one season of a show weekly and then break, and repeat?
Are the guys making the show sharing a writer with a half dozen other projects? Are they getting paid only two shows in advance? waht???!?! Goddamnit.

    1. That's not the problem. Everyone was set to air, and hours before, Cartoon Network pulled the shows with no reason given.

    2. I'm just pissed that this goddamned good series can't just run for a season at a time. It gets delayed and delayed and delayed and runs six episodes then stops for months... it's stupidity, and such delays are very very poorly expressed to the viewers.

and really if this episode was pulled for having that name in the credits it's not hard to edit one page of credits and remove it. I just don't understand any of the mangement on this series.

  2. Part of me thinks this actually may be the reason.

I'm wondering if Cartoon Network ran this by DC Nation at all, since a higher up in the Green Lantern series was beyond flustered on his Twitter to say the least.

  3. Tumblr took this seriously, didn't they?

    1. Oh yeah. I had people telling me that they saw it linked as a "source" with them saying they had heard that Didio didn't give Cartoon Network the right to use Stephanie, thus why it was pulled... which makes NO SENSE, whatsoever.

    2. What a shock, the Anti-DiDio brigade makes fools of themselves in their quest to blame Dan DiDio for everything.

You'd think they'd have better things to do.

  4. Ok. But what you are MISSING is that Stephanie Brown was also in the Green Lantern episode set to air. She was going to be given the White Power Ring and Dido flipped his shit. It ALL had to come down. MiBs were deployed. Memories erased. It had to be done though. F'n Stephanie Brown man....

  5. why the hell would anyone put steph brown in green lantern? i mean... why? what's white ring for - teenager?

  6. I love Stephanie Brown. The treatment of her by DiDio and co. has been disgusting. Right now the only Batbook I read is Catwoman because Selina has been my favourite comic book character for 20 years. I would love to read more DC books, but I won't until Stephanie is finally back. The same goes for Cassandra Cain. My money is just as good as any other reader's, but apparently DC does not want it. Oh well---more for me!!
