I could make a joke about memory and my feelings towards this arc, but that would be rude.

Outside of Gotham, April 14th, 2012

So this week there's just the newest issue of Suicide Squad to talk about, but there are also all the solicits for the other series to cover, so hit the jump for all that and what not.

Suicide Squad #8

So, after the events of the last issue, this is a breather issue that sets up a few things. First, there's a traitor in the squad, a mole from Basilisk, which I believe is just the New 52 version of Kobra, which they probably didn't want to have confused with GI Joe. The second, there's a brief cross over with Resurrection Man next month, which is the Squad's latest mission. Anyways, it consists of Amanda Waller surveying the surviving recruits. What about Harley? Well, Waller wakes her up Pulp Fiction style to basically say "you fuck with me again, I'll shoot you in the head." But, there are good ramifications of Harley's break out, is to cover up the scar Harley left on his lip, Deadshot is growing back his fucking mustache, thank god.

As for my thoughts? Eh. I thought it was an alright issue. I mean, it was one of those breathers, so it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, and it didn't have an emotional impact like say Batman and Robin #8 did, but it's not a book built for that. Also, I just don't like Federico Dallocchio's art, and I'm glad the book is getting a new artist next issue. I FINALLY figured it out why I don't like it, which I couldn't put my finger on previously. It has this weird uncanny valley look. It looks a bit too realistic, and the faces just look odd to me, because it's not quite realistic enough. Whatever, new artist, new life.

RATING: 3/5
