Mystery Batman #1 woman revealed?

So, remember Batman #1? During Bruce's charity event, there were a few panels of some singled out people. Commissioner Gordon, Leslie Thompkins, and two other people we hadn't met. We eventually found out that the man was mayoral candidate Lincoln March (who we haven't seen in a while, now that I think about it...) and then some mystery black haired lady.

Well, we may be finding out more about her soon, hit the jump for more.

Months back in September, Snyder told ComicVine this about said lady:
"You'll have to wait and see, but I will say this, she is in a sequence of important characters, so… :-)"
Then last night, he had this to say on twitter:
"Also, this issue, BATMAN #7, out wed. introduces a new female character who's going to play an important role in Gotham"
Hmmm... Seems linked. With big revelations already teased for tomorrow's issue, consider me interested.

I had honestly forgotten about said mystery lady all together. Once I heard that Cassandra Cain was originally supposed to be in attendance for this scene, I figured that the woman was just a generic stand in, similar to the pig tailed girl in the Arkham scene prior, who was originally supposed to be Harley Quinn, conflicts with Suicide Squad and all that turned her to generic background lady 1.

  1. Very interesting! Maybe she will pop in as Black Bat in the near future? I guess time will tell.
